The two effects, stated exactly
The store describes 2X Cash as doubling cash from every profitable flight, and +50% Flight Speed as making active flights finish 33% sooner. Those are the developer's own words, and both have precise arithmetic consequences.
The 33% figure is not a rounding choice: a 50% speed increase divides travel time by 1.5, which is a 33.3% reduction. The two statements are consistent with each other.
Speed pass arithmetic
| Target | Base block time | With +50% speed | Cycles in 6 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | 120 min | 80 min | 4.5 vs 3 |
| 3 hours | 180 min | 120 min | 3 vs 2 |
| 6 hours | 360 min | 240 min | 1.5 vs 1 |
Why 2X Cash needs a profitable route
Doubling a negative number makes it more negative, so the store wording — profitable flights only — is doing real work. The pass is a multiplier on success, not a subsidy for failure.
The practical order is therefore: repair routes until they are positive, then consider 2X Cash. Buying it while a route loses $2,173 per flight changes nothing on that route.
When each pass is worth considering
- 2X Cash: every route is already positive and you fly often.
- 2X Cash: you have a repeatable route you understand rather than an experimental one.
- +50% Speed: your session is short and block time is the binding limit.
- +50% Speed: you want more cycles on a route you have already optimised.
- Neither: a route is still losing money, because the fix is free.
The combined effect
Speed raises the number of flights; cash doubles the result of each positive flight. Applied to a positive route, the two multiply: 1.5× the cycles and 2× the cash per cycle is 3× the hourly earnings.
Applied to a negative route, speed increases the rate of loss and cash does nothing. That asymmetry is the whole decision.
Pass questions
Do the passes stack?
They affect different variables — flight duration and cash per flight — so they combine rather than compete. The store lists them as separate products with permanent effects.
Is +50% speed really 33% faster?
Yes. Increasing speed by half divides the time by 1.5, which removes one third of the duration. The store description states the 33% figure directly.
Does 2X Cash apply to the Concorde unlock?
They are separate products. Concorde is a fleet unlock; 2X Cash is a cash multiplier on profitable flights. Nothing in the store text links them.
Are there other passes?
The public store listing at review time had six: Unlock Concorde, Airline Expansion Pack, Extra Airline Slot, Starter Pack, +50% Flight Speed and 2X Cash.
